ABOUT NICOLE

My love for fitness began at 6 years old when I started taking gymnastics and swimming lessons.  I pursued gymnastics seriously until I was 14 years old, when a shoulder reconstruction forced me to retire from the sport.  I immersed myself in the fitness world and at age 17, I was certified by Fitness Resource Associates (FRA) as a personal trainer.  Previous to this, I taught gymnastics at Maplewood Day Camp and the Gymnastics Academy of Boston and also taught aerobics for kids at Kidsport.  After attending Boston University and School of the Museum of Fine Arts, I graduated from UMASS Boston’s Honors Program with my BA in English and Art.  From there I graduated from Emerson College’s MFA program in Creative Writing and Publishing. I was an adjunct Professor of English at Emerson College, Bridgewater State College, and Massasoit Community College from 2001-2006 and today, I still work part-time at Massasoit as an English professor.

However, despite the background in English, in 2003, my passion for working out was reignited when I began training with a competitive bodybuilder.  I was often found training and preparing nutritional programs for my co-workers, family, and friends and in 2008, I was re-certified as a trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM).  Since then I have trained and provided nutritional advice for clients ranging in age from 12 – 72, all of whom have a variety of fitness needs and span a wide range of fitness levels. I was also responsible for teaching the notoriously hard, twice weekly “Boot Camp” class for the last 5 years at Milton Hill gym. I have experience working with a diverse clientele; my clients currently include high school and college students, doctors, lawyers, CFOs, CEOs, hair dressers, accountants, and many more. I stay current with new training techniques through networking with other trainers and attending national conferences to keep up with the latest fitness trends. I have worked alongside fitness and figure competitors, bodybuilders, chiropractors and physical therapists, which has provided me with a wealth of knowledge for training and nutrition planning.  In 2010, I was introduced to Cross training and quickly found a new love. Currently, I combine training techniques from strength and conditioning and bodybuilding in order to create the best program possible for each individual client based on his/her needs and desires.
